More than a place to stay

A part of Nilambur, kept with pride

Teak Town is a 70-year-old ancestral home in traditional Kerala style, set within six acres of gardens and fruit orchards on the edge of the Nilgiris.

It stands in a land defined by teak — Nilambur is where the world's first teak plantation was raised, in 1844. The same wood that shaped this town shaped our home: handpicked teak, cool tiled floors, wide verandas open to birdsong.

We don't run a resort. We open our home — so you can slow down and discover a quieter, older, greener side of Kerala.

Why Nilambur

Why travel all the way here?

Because there is nowhere quite like it — and almost no crowd in it.

For explorers

Seen the same places again and again?

If you've already done the usual weekend escapes, take the road somewhere different. Nilambur is the quieter, greener side of Kerala most travellers drive right past — and it's closer than you think.
